Inspired by life on the water

Inspired by their own uncomfortable nights at sea, round-the-world sailors Paul and Angela Hallatt launched Ship Shape Bedding in 2006. Initially offering only shaped duvets to fit the awkward bed spaces on boats, we soon expanded our product range dramatically. Within a short time, Ship Shape Bedding was providing a full line of custom-fitted bed linens, mattresses, toppers, saloon upholstery, and deck cushions – meeting the huge demand for home comforts tailored to the unique spaces found on board.

Inspired by life on the water

In 2020, Paul and Angela, retired to return to their sailing adventures. In their place, Matt Nudd, our commercial manager who had been a key contributor to Ship Shape’s success, stepped up to become the new owner and managing director of Ship Shape World Ltd. Wasting no time, Matt immediately put his big plans for the company into motion. By 2021, Ship Shape had opened its brand new showroom – the largest marine upholstery showroom in the UK.

In 2021, we opened the UK’s largest Marine Upholstery showroom to showcase our wide range of products, and allow customers the chance to try out all of the different options. Located in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, with miles of amazing waterways to explore nearby. Why not plan a weekend sailing the broads, and pop in to visit us whilst you’re in the area!
